On my usual stop into the
em tea coffee cup café I was greeted by the always friendly Sterling who informed me the café is celebrating 15 years of operation in Hamlin Park. It’s not hard to see why the café has been dedicated to the neighborhood for so long with the warm atmosphere and great offerings, it’s not secret I adore this place.
Sterling was also quick to remind me of the upcoming spoken word night the café will be hosting as part of their ongoing live entertainment/music series. Don’t miss out on this event, which is always a good time! The event is entitled “Wordism” and takes place January 17
th beginning at 8pm. Food and drinks will be available before and during the show. A few featured artists will be performing, but there will be an open mic portion if you want to show off your skills. The cafe is located at the corner of Oakgrove and Hughes Avenues.
